‘Sorted’ is one of my larger portraits, painted in oils on canvas and framed in a bespoke frame, using the painted and gilded hardwood we bought in Cameroon, Africa,. It still shows the marks of the chainsaw that initially cut it.

‘Sorted’ is a portrait where I wanted to show this young man’s attitude and presence. But he wanted to express casual confidence — by leaning back, glass in hand, appearing fully settled in himself. Only getting to know him better later on showed me that there was more to him than what he showed me that day.
For me, this painting is about the intersection of poise and ease. It celebrates personality as much as posture, turning an ordinary moment into something iconic.
