The Red Shawl is one of my Grace n’ Grit girls who feels it all, yet is tough (in a rather resigned way). She’s almost given up on the hope of experiencing pure joy – but not quite! She finds joy in expressing herself however she wants to, to the world. This was painted in oils using a palette knife, and brings together bold colour, graceful lines, and a timeless expression — a portrait that feels both classic and contemporary.
